• L28 (inseam length 72 cm), height 1.55-1.62 m;
• L30 (inseam length 76 cm), height no more than 1.7 m; 
• L32 (inseam length 81 cm) if height 1.7-1.78 m;
• L34 (inseam length 86 cm) ideal for height 1.78-1.88 m;
• L36 (inseam length 91 cm) suitable for people taller than 1.88 m.

In general, inseam lengths are the same for men and women, but waist measurement requires accuracy since body shapes differ. The main sizing criterion for women’s jeans is the waist (W). To calculate it, measure your waist circumference with a tape measure. The resulting value is relative, since many brands have different rises and cuts. 

Both measurements should be taken from your ideal jeans — the ones that fit you best right now. Keep in mind that Russian jeans sizes differ from American ones, since the latter are given in inches (1 inch = 2.54 cm). Therefore, before buying overseas products, measure the inseam length and waist, then divide the value by 2.54. If the waist is 65 cm and the inseam is 78 cm, the size will be W26*L31.

How to choose the size of men's and women's jeans

Method #1 will help you find out what jeans size you need. Subtract 16 from your clothing size (for example, 42-16=26). The resulting number = American size. Method #2 for determining men's jeans size: bend your arm and clench your fist. If in this position you can fit your hand into the fastened item, then this is your size. The method is not suitable for overweight people who have a protruding belly. 

Which jeans size to choose from different manufacturers? All companies' size charts for men's and women's jeans differ. The same marking may correspond to different parameters.
