Buying an iPhone in the US: how much can you save on each model?

It’s twice as fast as the processors in the best Android smartphones. Perfect for gaming and even VR, and it will stay that way for at least another 3–5 years.

iPhone SE

But you can save money if you get a used iPhone XS in the USA. Then the savings are significant, on the order of 25 thousand rubles. It's worth noting that Refurbished devices in America are not the same thing as used ones in Russia at all. The products are guaranteed to work, and most of the time you can't tell that they've been used (unless they don't come in the original box).

iPhone XR

Excellent and very inexpensive iPhone. The only one in Apple’s lineup with an LCD display. Moreover, it (also for the first time at Apple) is bezel-less and goes from edge to edge. Technology — Liquid Retina, diagonal — 6,1 inches (very solid, larger than the iPhone X). Processor — A12 Bionic. Its specs and display size almost reach the level of the iPhone XS Max, while the cost in the States is much lower. Plus you can choose from six body colors.

Price in Russia at Apple — 49 990 rubles. In the USA — $599.

Savings, if ordering this iPhone in America, — 3850 rubles.

iPhone 7

The cheapest among modern iPhones. You get a quad-core processor, 2 GB of RAM which is quite decent for iOS, up to 256 GB of internal memory, and the full set of features from the latest iOS (except for face screen unlock). The screen diagonal is 4.7 inches.

The iPhone 8 and iPhone 7 are not officially sold by Apple; it's better to look on Amazon/Newegg/eBay. Prices for the iPhone 7 in the USA start from $400 for a new 128 GB model (28 thousand rubles), and from $150 for a used one. In Russia, such a 128 GB option costs from 37 200 rubles.

Where to Buy an Original iPhone in the USA?

1. Apple.com

The most favorable prices, unlocked devices. But only new models (you won't find iPhone 8/iPhone XS here anymore). In addition, the store doesn't particularly favor customers from Russia — it tries to make them buy from Apple.ru, where the same goods are more expensive. Therefore, your payment may not be accepted. Especially if you specify our warehouse address exactly as everyone else does (then the store realizes these are customers not from the USA). So you should order carefully. Periodically our address gets blacklisted by the official site. Suspects something?

2. Amazon.com

Here, on the contrary, the attitude toward customers from Russia is the most friendly. Everything is sold, many payment options, free delivery to the Pochtoy.com warehouse.
